terminal va says:

Ok been at a help desk for three and a half years at level 1. I throw my resume out there and I keep getting a lot of level 1 job postings. I have an associate's and a bachelor's degree, a Sec+ and the experience.

What benefit do I truly have at taking yet another level 1 help desk job? I'm worried about missing better opportunities and being pigeonholed as just a phone call center guy.

Guys I am starting my first ever job as a Helpdesk Technician on Monday, the company deals with web hosting, offsite backups, setting mails accounts etc. I am very nervous about this position any idea on what the job will entail or any day to day tasks?

I have a degree in BCOM Information Management. Thanks

I´m a Computer Science Student and i just applied for an IT Service Desk job as a working student. 😀 Friends of mine all said: "Oh no, you will stuck in there forever." And your video is really encouraging!

ZeP says:

Good stuff brother! Subscribed! Just got my bachelors degree and this video is exactly what I needed to hear!

Rick B says:

The answer why helpdesk is a good thing? You will learn more doing helpdesk and basically being thrown in to the fire right off the rip… I was helpdesk desk tier 1 – 8 years and now I'm a tier infinite and work for myself as a DevOps consultant. make BANK and it all started out with me as the nervous and uncomfortable (for a month or so) 'it guy' on the other end of a phone at the office of my first MSP job.. SERIOUSLY, a year in the trenches (helpdesk) is EASILY worth a bachelors in CS

Redouane Bahmad says:

Thank you so much for the video.

Julys King says:

I wont lie I was dodging the helpdesk jobs because i didn't care for it i put it at the bottom of my list between desktop support & security analyst but a helpdesk position got offered to me by a well named government contractor and your absolutely right and its a sweet job hell im at work now lmao

CLegendSniper says:

Do u have to dress up everyday working in IT whats the average dress code like for technology workers?

Shanlin Chow says:

Is IT helpdesk job suitable for non-IT related background graduates?I studied English at college without IT background.Am I suitable for this job?

Terron Mosley says:

Many of help desk jobs require a security clearance. How am I suppose to get around this fresh out of college. I’m for sure not gonna accept $12-15hr help desk jobs without having an clearance. Won’t be able to survive in wash dc with that salary…

Planet Haney says:

Any advice for someone, who graduated with a Bachelor's in I.T., but was unable to land an internship during college? That's where I am at now. Pushing nearly 7 months since graduation, yet to land even an interview for basic help desk. 🙁

Michael says:

I have done a computer science degree with a strong focus on development. I have decided that development is just not for me. This video has helped me a lot in terms of helping me to plan my career!

justine jun banogon says:

Hi Sir! Just want to ask for an advice on how to get a job like helpdesk on a fresh IT graduate like me. I don't have any work experience but i really want to get a job like helpdesk. Thank you so much!

wheredidileavemycell says:

What I did is start at a Building Supply Company as a cashier. I worked in many different roles getting to know how the business operates so when I finally landed my it job within the company, I was able to do well because of my previous experience. Something you have to remember is it when people who are stuck in dead end jobs at your company they will try to keep you down as well. Never give up no matter what anyone says. No matter how Bleak your chances may seem to get promoted never ever give up. All it takes is one person in the right position to promote you at the right time so be ready when the time comes. Also people talk a lot of trash about it when things go wrong. They will never thank you when things go right. they will take you for granted. Keep your head looking forward and keep your head up and you will succeed

Nathaniel Peter says:

It that so! No wonder how IT guys suffer from pathetic calls. According to my 2 years experience in customer care I suffered a tortured life. Banging with guns for my resurrection.

Richard Rybicki says:

Hi I just got a degree in IT. and I will like to change my career into the field. What entry level jobs would recommend ?

Maltese Fan says:

Hey I.T Career Questions.   So here's my question.  I have experience in a call center environment.   that's in the health insurance.  industry.  I can't tell which one. But it's really large expanding in different states. And.. it wasn't and may not still be popular due to it's nature. i'll let others figured it out from that cryptic nature.  I loved that company that i worked for and the people. don't get me wrong.   But here's my question or just general post.  I do have call center experience. But i'm finding out that not a lot of help desk positions want to hire someone with help desk experience.  And the odd part is that I do have education in computer Science . the network admin field.   and my last job.    I was a printer operator.  but i asking a lot of question from both the Electrical and Mechanical engineers and lab techs to learn more about the printers and the way they worked. The lab tech also let me tear down and put back together belt fusers, and hot rollers.   And I was learning how to swap out Delta and Chicony power supplies.   along with swapping out fusers. Also some people have told me that help desk roles do not have a 2 week or more training environment.  like you do at a normal call center. And they said you'd have to ask the co workers if you wanted to learn how to learn how to fix issues.    does this sound odd.   you need a job to gain experience and most jobs have training provided.  ?

Rudy G says:

Great stuff brother thank you for sharing this💯🙏

MjayMuah says:

Thank you so much for your advice! Very helpful and reassuring 🙂

Kevin Echols-EL says:

The question is how do you get the experience if no one wants to hire you to even get the experience

ITJOBS says:

i'm new to USA and i got my I.T job within a year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OfSASkBQOs&t=181s

Klint Morre says:

Hey i got a 2 year degree, i just had my MTA cert networking, and now im at geeksquad, just want to know if geeksqaud experience would gradually help me on getting a helpdesk tech job.

theredpill says:
