TREVOR says:

Could my computer science degree that I'm close to completing help me with this at least as much as someone who has retail experience?

Giuseppe Faraone says:

which programs are used to open ticket in 2020 in IT help desk ?

Saiful Islam says:

Help me plz 01992597638

SqwareCircle10 says:

Thank you, I am a computer science major, i seem to have trouble finding a job. There was a job position at a particular university. I really have more confidence now to apply. I have so some much customer service ,that there was no more room to put it on my resume'. thank you again for clarifying.

Johnny Huynh says:

Thank you very much, thanks to you, I got helpdesk job.

Ian Curtis says:

I'm working for 2 years with help desk… cant stand it anymore

Facts Over Emotions says:

I have never done customer service because they want previous experience in customer service, so, I will do what everyone does to land a job in their first customer service job… Lie about customer service and make up a company name that I supposedly worked for 20 years ago which no longer exists because it "merged" into another company (stacking lies upon lies is fun and can get you far in life as long as you keep remembering your lie and keep telling everyone around you the SAME lie so you don't fuck up.)

Papa Cash says:

You waste time stupid fuck video suck

BoBo Gaijin says:

I have 8+ years in customer service experience but I only know basic things about computers. Will they teach me everything I need to know about IT if I get the help desk job or am I required to get a certificate? I have friends in IT who say they would help me if I had questions but I'm super paranoid that I'll need to know more in general…. do I need a cert or will customer service be enough to get the job?

Justin MC says:

You’re pretty funny man lol!

K J says:

I applied for a support tech position with no exp., No degree, and no certifications in the IT Dept at my place of employment. Though that role was filled with someone else, the IT Director offered me a position as a Hardware Deployment Specialist (to gain hands on experience) with 4 hours a week (with current position) for now as I finish my IS degree and as the company pays for some of my tuition. Customer Service background, wear a freaking suit to the interview, and you are already a step ahead. She shared with me after the fact that 9 out of 10 applicants were walking in in street clothes which very much ruined any chance, despite the IS degree, certifications, and other criteria. So thus starts my IT journey. Though I knew my chances were minimal, The IT Dept carved out a position for me to get involved due to other attributes. It is possible!

Paul Bush says:

Hey boss, I'm studyin computer networking and technical support in Jan..my goal is to become a help desk tech and stay there. Any idea how I can study help desk related videos? also how much do they make?

Justin Braxton says:

Thank you Zach for dedicating your time to these videos and inspiring people to never give up. I'm almost in my 40's with a family and I want to provide a better life. It's scary starting over with a new profession but you've helped so much.

MKL says:

I also just got a service desk job! I had an interview on Monday morning and they called me two hours later! No experience but I said how I built pcs as a hobby and have had several customer service jobs. So excited to start. Actually have a career path now where I can progress. Need to get my itil cert. Can't wait 😃😄 thought it went bad as there were 3 interviewing me but looks like I impressed them.

Too simplistic, I have 4 years at selling electronics for Walmart, cashier on occasion which I hated!!, Like everyone else!!…People are brutal, even if you know your thoroughly studied answer, you must be at the top of your game at all times!!.
They just throwed me on the floor and I made several awful mistakes despite common sense because I was dealing with psicos, male and female, and my co workers with lack of education, were throwing me under the bus!!
-"No! let them take the 10 dollar items at front!!,(right in front of the costumer!) That is humiliating and that after the costumer yelling at me because I treated him like a "thief" he said.
No one covered that for me like many other details.
Now, I'm a veteran, and when I shadowed new people I thought them in detail, I wasn't hiding the thruth of holidays with nasty people, thieves, ot people that will acused you of being racist for not helping them in a split second like a servant, while you are explaining OLED, technology to nice costumers, Others because would blame you of "bad costumer service" because their own ignorance wouldn't let them understand technology, any kind of technology!! that being said, after I explained to them in simple terms.
I became the best and seeked for my knowledge by costumers, after a while, but it wasn't a walk in the park!!.
Setting up phone accounts , observing % discounts, explaining everything about computers, differences, operating systems speeds, capacities, difference display technologies, expensive gamer systems, videogames, vodeogame consoles, phones, tv adapters, streamers, photography, cabling, stupid phone cases, and peripherals. Hotspots, different phones and their operation…And more much more…No one wanted to answer the phones while working on the floor!! It was the most difficult part because people are more abusive when they don't face you!! Of course I had the gutts to do it, and had to make my co workers not relying on me, out of laziness and fear…At least with me they had the surprise when coming over of realizing, they were dealing with a wounded veteran expert much before in many other fields but I was able to put them in place, with a hard Seargent's look .
Apply yourself, if you are going to do it, and keep cool, calm and collected no matter what…If you can't do that, it is not for you…I'm injured I had no choice.
I'm looking for a job as an IT Admin….I didn't think I had to do help desk…But at least, I have vast experience now.

UpMostt says:

you need good customer service skills. you're welcome i just save you 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

M J says:

Thank you for the video

Mr HunterF λ says:

Scamming experience

Gurnard says:

Thank you for all your videos. You have inspired me to pursue my dream, I have been an automotive mechanic for the past 8 years, but have never been passionate about it.. computers have always been my passion, since middle school I was building/fixing/troubleshooting computers. Now I’m working my full time automotive job while taking online classes through Coursera, the google cert. I have recently applied to a couple places, despite not having professional experience. I wasn’t really expecting anyone to call back, but I got an interview coming up, which is super exciting.. sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to let you know that you are helping people around the world with your content. Keep it up!

Dan Kiai says:

I have over 10 yrs of customer service experience and a certificate in computer networking from a community college. How good are my chances of landing a help desk job?

Cosmetology Memes says:

I only have experience in customer service so like eight years

BellboyBaggins says:

I have roughly four years of customer service experience across retail and hotels and a BS in Business Admin. Took a lot of intro programming courses in college (C++, Java, HTML, etc) and currently studying for the A+ exams. Would you recommend I start applying for help desk jobs now or wait until I have the cert? Thanks for the video; it's very encouraging 🙂

DD .S says:

I wasn’t too discouraged about applying for an help desk position. I’m currently a Crim major but realized that I want to get into Computer Science for a career. So I’m picking up a minor in either IT or CS to learn at least something before I graduate with my bachelors next year. I’ve been doing security ( retail, corporate and residential) for 4 years which is basically customer service. I do plan on taking certification programs and classes for programming, website design and graphics in the future but this video just cemented I can get this position when the time is needed. If anyone has advice for me feel free to comment.

ang 85 says:

This really helps. I never applied for help desk because I thought at the very least you had to be certified (fundamentals, A+..etc) and I have over 8 years of customer service and studying for A+. I’m applying today😌

dragonhaart says:

I have 7 years experience in customer service and I recently got my A+ cert. I have been applying but haven't received a call back. Granted, it's holiday season so that's probably why, gotta keep trying though 😀

Fraevo10 says:

I'm 55 and a factory laborer. My back is shot and I can't keep being on my feet bending and lifting all day. The pain in my back is horrible. A desk job would be ideal.

Marj G says:

Phewww. I have a Helpdesk interview on Tuesday, I do have customer service experience. This is easing my anxiety a bit

Maverick23 says:

OMG!! I went to the interview and a few days later I got offered the help desk position! I don't have IT experience but I have 4 years of customer service experience and I "bragged" about my personal computer knowledge in building and fixing computers, they loved all my answers. I don't have any certs but I told them I'm taking lessons online for A+ at Linkedin.
And the best part is that its $18 an HOUR!!! I'm PUMPED
