VidWatcher1X says:

I'm glad the social MEDIA companies admit that MEDIA is the problem.
All forms of MEDIA need to take responsibility for their content.
Just because Mike Zuckerberg and the others aren't creating the content they are SUPPORTING it just as much as Fox News supports Tucker or any of the other even further "right" wing MEDIA companies support their own content.
They let it go on because they are 1) Supporting it, 2) condoning it, and/or 3) making a boat-load of money from selling out democracy and the United States of America.
Like it or not, they are part of the 5th Column that is attacking America.
They take money from or gained by the use of their platform by foreign entities that are working to overthrow/undermine the American government and American Society.
They are directly responsible for spreading propaganda that is based on lies.
All of the MEDIA outlets should have culpability for the spread of lies and deception designed to cause division, hatred, and – frankly, in related to COVID lies – deaths.
Someone is responsible for the lies that have helped cause over a HALF A MILLION American deaths by COVID.
Trump is at the top of that pyramid, but I don't think that he made the most money off of those lies that lead to over a HALF A MILLION deaths by COVID.
MEDIA made the most money off of spreading disinformation that lead to the deaths of over a HALF A MILLION Americans, but not just the ones in America but also around the world.
I don't care how much they can fancy talk, and Congress doesn't either.
Answer Yes or No.
We don't have time for their con game. If they are all going to be con men, treat them like con men.
And, apparently, they are all con men.

Joey C says:

There all responsible, complicit allowing them to stay on "their" platforms.

Mike Clements says:

Zuck is a moron, facebook and this other bs is the "media" now

Manifestation Engineering says:

Media is a problem and needs to be regulated immediately like in the UK

Gia Harton says:

I understand where the congress is coming from… but what can the CEO do when there so called "free speech" act? — what can the CEO do, seriously – U block the misleading information, people would say you are silencing the voice. You disperse the information (by mixing both left and right point of view), people would get more confused to which information is correct and started heated discussion? you stop news media from coming in to social media, then people would create conspiracy theory or make random rumors without facts, that may turn to be fact for some ppl. Seems like the mistake is to even give people a platform to voice out.

Only way I can think of is to give each account a 5 strike with each level of severe punishment like in some multiplayer games for violating the rules.

Lester Dwayne Jones says:

How can congress hold big tech responsible and not trump? The hypocrisy is real.

said hossain says:

time to regulate these tech firms. Theirs are platforms of poison. This is no longer freedom of information, but a bonanza staple of only poison and falsehood. When your food supply is only poison, you are going to become ill and will remain so long term. Time to cleanse the ideas that people are introduced to from deliberate and dangerous misinformations. These platforms have played one of the most significant roles in increasing racism, hatred, bigotry, and violence in the country in the last decade (after 2012 esp). In fact facebook can be called tea party's propaganda machine and twitter could be called the loud mouthpiece of Trump's racism.

Rose Healion says:

Why are tech giants being held responsible but not Fox News? That’s total BS

Krenar Sejdiu says:

Blame fucking Trump disinformation also happened when there was no internet like Nazi Germany

extra solar says:

its the same ole thing. youre in bed with cleopatra vampirella and wonderwoman, reaping the rewards and amazing bounty of nature, when the russian alarm clock rings. theyre super heroines, you have to depend on cnn. cnn says that the russians are attacking their infrastructure but vampirella says that predator cuomo tried to get her to sign a strip poker contract, and cleopatra says that the predator tried to push her great great great great great grandmother into a little syndicate sarcophagus, all because she asked directions to the magic floating hospital that fredo said not to go to and didnt exist. the solution is much better than cnns offer which is ford flopped social media management excuses from the seth meyers shows backstage groupies. wonderwoman suggests putting cnn on a leash, and giving them to karen, but its possible with the propped up biden regimes stolen election authority they can be trained for more credible and trusted functions.
